Behavioral Health Initiatives
LPHI’s Behavioral Health Initiatives promote a comprehensive system of accessible behavioral health services which are responsive to the cultural diversity of Louisiana residents. We work with our partners to encourage:
- Collaborative care of behavioral health and other chronic disease conditions
- Sustainability of behavioral health services
- Evidence-based service delivery and policies
Behavioral Health Action Network (BHAN)
In fall 2006, LPHI envisioned community collaboration as a key component to restoring mental health and addictive disorders services lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. With funding from the Baptist Community Ministries and Lloyd L. Fry Foundation, BHAN was formed to provide a forum for stakeholders to present problems and vet solutions in a post disaster environment. read more
BHAN Dashboard
Funded by Baptist Community Ministries, LPHI is working closely with local partners to collectively design, implement and promote a web-based tool that describes mental health and addictive disorder services in the Greater New Orleans region. The aim of the BHAN Dashboard project is to:
- Increase utilization and coordination of behavioral health services
- Foster public accountability
- Provide decision support for capacity building
Collaborative to Improve Behavioral Healthcare Access (CIBHA)
CIBHA is a quality improvement learning collaborative to support the integration behavioral and primary healthcare and thereby improve access to services. The primary objectives are to build local capacity for best practice treatment of depression and other common behavioral health conditions and to identify strategies that will produce sustainable systemic change in the Greater New Orleans region. With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, we provide training and technical assistance to primary care, mental health and addictive disorder professionals who want to practice quality collaborative care and improve outcomes in treating behavioral health and other chronic disease conditions. read more
