Finance and Operations
Provides overall financial management and oversight to ensure mission-driven outcomes, accountability and compliance. The team focuses on finance and accounting, human resources management, grants and contracts management and general operations and administration.
As the backbone of LPHI, the Division of Finance and Operations made headway toward improving organizational performance, as well as financial and human resources management, by funding short and long-term sustainability needs starting with engaging a resource development staff person and enhancing infrastructure systems. LPHI hired a consultant to assist with applying for federally-negotiated indirect cost rates for the organization and each service division director completed a rate of service for external contracts. Finance and Operations also upgraded its accounting system, which offers improved reporting features and tracking mechanisms.
Lastly, under Finance and Operations, the Human Resources Manager led and completed a salary and benefits survey in conjunction with the National Network of Public Health Institutes’ member institutes to ensure that LPHI is in line with the latest salary ranges, grades, job descriptions and qualifications for staff positions.
