Position Summary

LPHI, a learning-informed organization, dedicated to professional development, coaching, and collaboration through an equity lens, seeks a full-time, experienced, and energetic Senior Program Coordinator to coordinate and organize all major components and coordination of the statewide COVID-19 vaccine equity initiative to enhance strategies and address emerging racial gaps in vaccination administration in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health and a plethora of community partners. . The statewide COVID-19 vaccine equity initiative is a collective impact project aimed to enhance vaccine equity strategies and address the emerging racial gap in COVID-19 vaccination through unprecedented collaboration with trusted, local organizations by hot-spotting the highest-incidence neighborhoods for a proactive vaccination campaign.

The Senior Program Coordinator will develop program plans, timelines, and deliverables, and be responsible for program implementation and reporting. This position will coordinate and monitor program activities of internal teams, external contractors and engaged partners and will also be responsible for developing relationships with partners and local community members, as well as, assisting with meeting planning and facilitation.

The Senior Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Policy & Equity and will work cross-collaboratively with team members across LPHI, including COVID-19 vaccine equity program team members, and team members from finance, communications, and other areas represented across the organizations.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to telework and travel up to 40% of the time throughout the state to implement local community events. Anticipating funding through March 2022 with a possibility of extension.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in program/program coordination.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring detailed program work plans.
  • Experience producing program and evaluation reports.
  • Policy research and analysis skills preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with experience working with
  • individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to think proactively, be a self-starter, and function both independently and as a
  • team.
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage heavy workloads and multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detailed-oriented.
  • Strong commitment to LPHI’s mission and values.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of virtual meeting platforms, including but not limited to Zoom, GoToWebinar, and Microsoft Teams, and ability to be trained to operate these platforms.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Program Coordination, Planning, and Implementation

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and coordination of program activities.
  • Perform operational and administrative functions including hosting and facilitating meetings (including virtual meetings and operating virtual platforms), developing agendas and timelines, taking meeting notes, and assisting with post-meeting follow up.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of webinars, conference calls, events, etc.
  • Support the development and preparation of program reports and materials.
  • Create, update, and maintain program workplans to ensure timely achievement of program milestones.
  • Engage team members and partners, assist in facilitating strategic planning and decision-making.

 Program Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of program evaluations.
  • Assist in the development of evaluation plans.
  • Coordinate and conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection.
  • Inform and develop recommendations aligned with data and programmatic findings and evidence-informed best practice.
  • Assist in reporting and product development activities.
  • Contribute to the development of dissemination materials, including manuscripts and presentations.
  • Develop evaluation reports or sections for grant applications.
  • Work with team members to identify and facilitate the sharing of lessons learned, best practices and tools.

Policy Research and Analytics

  • Conduct policy research and analysis on specific legislation and LPHI policy priorities.
  • Gather and analyze data to understand the overall effectiveness of current health policies and identify any problem areas.
  • Assist team in reviewing proposed legislation, communicating with LPHI programmatic teams, and maintaining the legislative tracking system.
  • Evaluate current policies targeting the health of the public (across all Determinants of Health (i.e., social, political, etc.) and create written briefs supporting LPHI’s position.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support grant and program development, including but not limited to grant writing as well as grant and programmatic research on evidence-informed and or innovative funding opportunities.
  • Support convenings with community and organizational stakeholders.
  • Support the development of communications materials, including writing content for LPHI newsletters, website, and social media.
  • Support overall organizational operations advancement efforts.
  • Attend and actively participate in team and LPHI-wide meetings.

 Salary/Benefits

  • Minimum starting salary of $46,000.00 dependent on education and experience.
  • A competitive benefits package is offered to all LPHI full-time staff.
