Primary Care Access and Stabilization Grant

After Hurricane Katrina decimated the city’s infrastructure, including crucial primary and emergency care access points, LPHI helped create a distributed network of high-quality primary care centers by effectively administering the $100 million federal Primary Care Access and Stabilization Grant (PCASG). The New Orleans area had the highest concentration of NCQA-recognized Patient Centered Medical Homes in the country due to this effort. LPHI was awarded the National Health Award by NCQA in 2010 for its contributions to these achievements.
