15 Things You Need to Know About the Gulf Region Health Outreach Program (GRHOP)

A newly released supplement in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice highlights the Gulf Region Health Outreach Program (GRHOP) is a series of integrated, five-year projects designed to strengthen healthcare in Gulf Coast communities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.

LPHI administers the Primary Care Capacity Project (PCCP), one of the four focal engagements of the program. Other subprojects include the Mental and Behavioral Health Capacity Project, the Environmental Health Capacity and Literacy Project, and the Community Health Workers Training Project. PCCP aims to strengthen health systems by increasing access to high quality primary care services in GRHOP-designated communities.
