HIV/STI team Director invited to White House meeting on HIV stigma

Russell Brewer, Director of LPHI's HIV/STI focus area, was invited to attend a two day meeting focusing on HIV Stigma at the White House in March 2016. The meeting was convened by the Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP), in collaboration with the NIH Office of AIDS Research and the National Institute of Mental Health. The meeting brought together crucial stakeholders from around the world to help advance research, policy and programs related to HIV stigma and best practices on measuring and monitoring HIV stigma, tracking its relationship to HIV outcomes and implementation of services, and interventions to reduce HIV stigma.

As a result of these meetings and in response to the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, ONAP plans to track HIV-related stigma at the national level.
