LPHI and REACHnet Join SMART IRB
LPHI and our partners that comprise the Research Action for Health Network (REACHnet) have joined the SMART IRB online reliance system. SMART IRB is funded by The National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) and is in accordance with National Institute of Health's forthcoming policy on using single IRB review.
With SMART IRB (Streamlined, Multisite, Accelerated Resources for Trials Institutional Review Board), investigators can facilitate use of one central IRB for multisite studies. In particular, the SMART IRB reliance system helps investigators and IRBs request and track IRB reliance agreements among the reviewing IRB and relying institutions. Ultimately, SMART IRB will save research team time and effort, while also helping to keep IRB documents organized and secure.
Investigators affiliated with the following institutions and clinical sites can use SMART IRB when conducting multisite research:
Tulane University
Daughters of Charity Health Centers
Access Health Louisiana
LSU's Pennington Biomedical Research Center
Ochsner Clinic Foundaton
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport
EXCELth, INC
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center
Baylor Scott & White Research Institute
