March 10 is National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. This important observance day recognizes the impact of HIV among women and girls. The theme for this year is "The Best Defense Is a Good Offense." There are a variety of HIV prevention stategies that are available to protect women and girls against HIV. The first is getting tested for HIV. The second is talking to your doctor about Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) to see if it's right for you. Lastly, start talking to your friends and family members about HIV. For women and girls living with HIV, getting medical care and treatment is important to stay healthy.
