The Research Action for Health Network (REACHnet), led by LPHI's Health Services Research team, comprises clinical data from electronic health records (EHRs) for more than 5 million patients in Louisiana and Texas. With this large data infrastructure, REACHnet facilitates patient-centered outcomes research across multiple partner health systems with the goal of generating evidence to inform innovations and improvements in healthcare. These EHRs hold rich information for large and diverse populations, making them a key resource for physicians and researchers alike. The team was intrigued by a recent story about EHR use in cardiovascular research that they read recently as it relates to how their work can help with research and studies of cardiovascular disease, as well as other diseases that impact population health.
