St. Tammany Behavioral Health Assessment
LPHI partnered with the St. Tammany Parish Government and the St. Tammany Behavioral Health Task Force over an 18-month period to conduct a systems assessment of the behavioral health service delivery system in St. Tammany Parish. The primary purposes of this project were to:
- Determine the current state of behavioral health needs and services
- Develop a plan to improve and sustain the behavioral health service delivery system
- Establish an online dashboard of up to date behavioral health data to inform decision makers
LPHI conducted this assessment through secondary data analysis, interviews with more than 50 key stakeholders, asset mapping, and contracting with an external consultant with expertise in behavioral health integration and financing. The assessment highlighted gaps and opportunities in services, with a focus on identifying areas for improved access, quality, coordination, and financial sustainability along the whole continuum of care. At the end of the project period, the LPHI team presented a plan with recommendations for system improvements to the Parish to inform future funding decisions.
Partners included: Baptist Community Ministries, the Northshore Foundation, National Council, St Tammany BH Taskforce
