Fit NOLA Parks and Farmers Market Prescriptions

The Fit NOLA Parks & Farmers Market Prescriptions initiative connected residents to community health clinics, parks and farmers markets in the St. Roch, Gert Town, and Hoffman Triangle-Central City neighborhoods. Through the Fit NOLA initiative, approximately 64,000 residents in these three neighborhoods were able to attend fun physical activities for families, shop for more local and nutritious foods, and visit community-centered health clinics.

Partners included the Office of Mayor Mitch Landrieu, City of New Orleans Health Department, New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC), New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation, Market Umbrella, Tulane Prevention Research Center, Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans, Norwood Thompson Booster Club, Friends of Taylor Park, St. Roch Improvement Association, New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, New Orleans Police Department, Hollygrove Market and Farm, and Wholesome Wave.
