Positive Charge

capacity building

In 2014, an 11 agency collaboration including LPHI conducted a four-year access to care project named Positive Charge. Funded by AIDS United and Bristol-Myers Squibb, the project strove to link persons living with HIV infection (PLWH) into medical care using six client-centered intervention models (health navigation, linkage case management, disease intervention specialists, pre/post release case management, etc.) in four Louisiana cities (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, and Shreveport).

Ultimately, approximately 1,000 PLWH received at least one of the six client-centered interventions and 86% were linked to HIV medical care within three months.
